Sally Singh

Counsellor and EMDR Practitioner

Ellenbrook office and Online - Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Individuals, Couples and Multiples

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years in education and community work across two countries. That’s shaped how I show up with people now, patient, and never trying to rush you toward something you’re not ready for. Cultural background shapes so much of what we’re taught about our bodies, and what we’re taught to never say out loud. That’s work most therapists haven’t been trained for. You stay in control of what we explore, and how far.

How I Work

I didn’t start in counselling. I was a teacher first, working with international students and kids who were struggling at school. That work taught me to notice what a person isn’t saying, before they’ve found the words for it, and I still work that way now.

I use EMDR and Internal Family Systems, and I bring structure into sessions rather than waiting to see where things go. If you’ve done therapy before and found it too open-ended to get anywhere, that’s often where I can help.

My background means I notice culture in the room even when nobody names it. Families and communities pass down what’s allowed to be said and what isn’t, and that shapes how someone carries trauma just as much as what happened to them. I treat both as connected, not separate.

Words from Sally

Trauma and sexuality live in the same body more often than people realise. Shame and silence shape how we connect, to ourselves and to other people, long before anyone names it out loud.

My work brings together EMDR and somatic approaches, helping people reconnect with their bodies and their sense of safety. For many of my clients, intimacy has been tangled with pain or cultural expectation. Healing, to me, means learning to listen to your body again, at a pace that actually feels possible.

I’ve lived and worked across cultures, and I understand how sexuality and trauma intersect. The messages we inherit about worth and how we’re supposed to love run deep. I sit with those stories with real curiosity, not a checklist.

Outside of therapy, I mentor and supervise other counsellors, helping them bring cultural awareness into their own work.

You don’t need to have the words yet. Just a willingness to begin. I’ll meet you there, gently and without judgement.

Introducing Sally

Sally brings warmth and a quiet steadiness to the team. She helps clients reconnect with their bodies after trauma, and her cultural background gives her a particular strength with migration grief and identity-based trauma. She works with individuals and couples, and often steps into family work too.

Sally listens deeply and meets people where they are. She never rushes, and she brings both compassion and gentle challenge to a session, shaped by decades across counselling and education.

Having lived and worked across countries and communities, Sally understands what it means to carry many stories at once. She helps people find clarity while still honouring their own pace.

Sally is someone you can trust to sit beside you as you rediscover safety and belonging.
